Private Pilot Certificate
Everyone has to start somewhere and this is where all pilots start, training for the first certificate – the Private Pilot certificate. We call this primary instruction because in a lifetime of flying this is where the foundation gets set. Primary Instruction includes:
- How to operate the flight controls
- How to operate an engine and perform a preflight inspection (Works great paired with Private Pilot Ground School)
- How to takeoff and land, climb/descend, turn, and fly straight and level
- How to navigate across country to distant airports
- Training for emergencies
Instrument Rating
For pilots with more experience and the need to depart or land when overcast skies prohibit VFR flight, an instrument rating is the necessary next step. Instrument students learn to navigate using only the flight instruments for reference, but also must learn a host of air traffic control procedures and clearances that make flight through the clouds safe.
- ATC Clearances and the National Airspace System
- Standard Instrument Departure Procedures
- Enroute Instrument Procedures
- Holding
- Instrument Arrival and Approach Procedures
