San Carlos Flight Center is a proud supporter of the Upwind Summer Scholarship Program. Upwind was founded by Flight Center pilots who wanted a way to promote piloting and general aviation, cultivate interest in aviation as a career, and to address the national pilot shortage.  Over the course of the Upwind Summer, one or more high school students are transformed into licensed Private Pilot(s) during the summer between their junior and senior year.

Complete information can be found on the Upwind web site at www.upwindscholarship.com. Please visit the site to learn more about program details, candidate requirements, and the application timeline.

Fundraising Progress
February and March are fundraising months for Upwind. Our goal for 2015 is $25,000. Each dark line on the thermometer at the right shows that we've raised $5,000 toward our goal, with each tiny tickmark indicating $1,000. As of February 20, 2015 we have raised over $1,500. Fundraising appeals have been sent and we we will continue updating as contributions come in.

Thank you for your support! If you have any questions or wish to contribute, please visit the Upwind web site or email upwindscholarship@gmail.com.
